Cafe Birgitta Hernesaari in Helsinki is the Log House of the Year.
The Finnish Log House Association HTT announced the winner at the top Finnish wood architecture event, Wood Day in Helsinki. The winner was chosen by professor Jouni Koiso-Kanttila from the University of Oulu and professor Pekka Heikkinen from Aalto University.
Profin’s windows and doors are an integral part of the award-winning cafe.
– The building’s architectural design takes advantage of both traditional and new, innovative solutions, says Heikkinen.
The cafe is located at the southern tip of Helsinki.
– You have a wonderful view over the sea through the windows. The natural, wooden structure complements the scenery beautifully, says the cafe owner Tommi Leppälä.
